RESPON PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT KAKAO (Theobroma Cacao L.) KLON – MCC 02 TERHADAP PEMBERIAN BEBERAPA JENIS PUPUK KANDANG

Abstract: This study aimed to evaluate the growth response of cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) seedlings of MCC 02 clone to the application of different types of animal manure and to determine the most effective manure type during the nursery stage. The research was conducted at the Experimental Farm of the Payakumbuh State Agricultural Polytechnic using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and six replications, namely no manure (P0), cow manure (P1), chicken manure (P2), and goat manure (P3). Observed parameters included seedling height, stem diameter, leaf length and width, as well as fresh and dry weight of seedlings. The results showed that the application of animal manure had a significant effect on all observed growth parameters. Cow and goat manure treatments resulted in the best response in seedling height, while stem diameter and leaf size showed relatively similar responses across all manure treatments. Goat manure produced the highest fresh and dry weights, indicating greater biomass accumulation. Overall, goat manure was the most effective treatment in enhancing the growth of cocoa seedlings of MCC 02 clone during the nursery stage.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi respon pertumbuhan bibit kakao (Theobroma cacao L.) klon MCC 02 terhadap pemberian beberapa jenis pupuk kandang serta menentukan jenis pupuk kandang yang paling efektif pada fase pembibitan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Payakumbuh menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan, yaitu tanpa pupuk kandang (P0), pupuk kandang sapi (P1), pupuk kandang ayam (P2), dan pupuk kandang kambing (P3). Parameter yang diamati meliputi tinggi bibit, diameter batang, panjang dan lebar daun, serta berat basah dan berat kering bibit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk kandang berpengaruh nyata terhadap seluruh parameter pertumbuhan yang diamati. Perlakuan pupuk kandang sapi dan kambing memberikan respon terbaik terhadap tinggi bibit, sedangkan diameter batang serta ukuran daun menunjukkan respon yang relatif seragam pada seluruh perlakuan pupuk kandang. Pupuk kandang kambing menghasilkan berat basah dan berat kering tertinggi, yang mengindikasikan peningkatan akumulasi biomassa tanaman. Secara keseluruhan, pupuk kandang kambing merupakan perlakuan yang paling efektif dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan bibit kakao klon MCC 02 pada fase pembibitan.
