Abstract

This study was conducted on employees of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK RI) Representative of Riau Province to examine the mediating role of spiritual well- being in the relationship between spiritual leadership and work engagement. A sample of 118 respondents was selected using simple random sampling based on the Krejcie and Morgan formula. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The empirical results show that spiritual leadership has a positive and significant effect on work engagement (t-statistic 4.103; p<0.05), spiritual  leadership  significantly  enhances  employees'  spiritual  well-being  (t-statistic 16.734; p<0.05), and spiritual well-being has a positive and significant effect on work engagement (t-statistic 5.188; p<0.05). Furthermore, spiritual well-being acts as a mediating variable that bridges the influence of spiritual leadership on work engagement. Thus, strengthening spiritual leadership practices within the organization can enhance employee work engagement, both directly and through the improvement of their spiritual well-being.
