DESAIN DAN PEMBUATAN APLIKASI PPDB ONLINE PADA SMP NEGERI 3 RAMBAH UNTUK MENDUKUNG TRANSFORMASI DIGITAL SEKOLAH

Abstract: Digital transformation in educational institutions is essential for improving the quality of services and administrative efficiency within schools. One aspect that can be enhanced is the New Student Admission (PPDB) process, which is still often carried out manually, requiring considerable time and resources. This study aims to design and develop an online PPDB application for SMP Negeri 3 Rambah to support the school’s digital transformation efforts and to facilitate the registration process for new students. The Waterfall method was used in the system development, including the stages of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system was built using PHP and MySQL with a simple user interface that is easy to use by prospective students and the school administration. The testing results showed that the developed online PPDB application functions effectively for online registration, printing registration receipts, and generating real-time registration reports. The implementation of this application is expected to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and transparency of the PPDB process at SMP Negeri 3 Rambah while serving as a concrete step in supporting the sustainable digitalization of schools.

Abstrak: Transformasi digital di lingkungan pendidikan merupakan kebutuhan penting dalam meningkatkan mutu layanan dan efisiensi administrasi sekolah. Salah satu aspek yang dapat ditingkatkan adalah proses Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) yang selama ini masih banyak dilakukan secara manual, sehingga memerlukan waktu dan tenaga yang cukup besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membuat aplikasi PPDB online pada SMP Negeri 3 Rambah sebagai upaya mendukung transformasi digital sekolah dan mempermudah proses pendaftaran peserta didik baru. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengembangan sistem adalah Waterfall, yang meliputi tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan. Sistem ini dibangun menggunakan PHP dan MySQL dengan desain antarmuka yang sederhana dan mudah digunakan oleh calon peserta didik serta pihak sekolah. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi PPDB online yang telah dibuat dapat berfungsi dengan baik untuk melakukan pendaftaran secara daring, mencetak bukti pendaftaran, serta menghasilkan laporan pendaftaran secara real-time. Penerapan aplikasi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi, akurasi, dan transparansi dalam proses PPDB di SMP Negeri 3 Rambah serta menjadi langkah nyata dalam mendukung digitalisasi sekolah secara berkelanjutan.
